BIOGRAPHY

WHAT IS BILL PARTON TRIO?

Bill Parton Trio is a soul, r&b and funky lounge groove musical outfit built upon a very firm mainstream jazz roots performing both original material and covers where the overall product is of a very fresh, cool, smooth and contemporary nature. The band features William Parton (vocals & keyboards), Benjamin Harrison (bass) and Andrew Partington (drums).

HOW DID BILL PARTON TRIO FORM?

The three initially met in Year 8 together back in 2001 at Brighton Secondary School where all three were awarded Special Interest Music Scholarships.

Ironically, that year a 7-piece Dixieland band was formed of which all three lads were a part of where Andrew still played the Drums however Ben played the soprano Saxophone and William played the Banjo!

In 2003, the Dixieland band dispersed and consequential to that, a mainstream jazz trio was formed which was essentially the unofficial inception of Bill Parton Trio.

In 2006 three had graduated from secondary school is when things really started to begin and become somewhat more serious….

AMBITIONS:
To find true happiness

WORST HABIT:
Can't relax

FAVOURITE QUOTE: “I don't think I could love you so much if you had nothing to regret.” - From Dr Zhivago

The man with the driving force, the reasons and ingenious ideas. Leading the way with his assertive piano and impeccably phrased vocals. His music is the other world or escape from all the stress, unfairness and pain society consigns. Comprising of very unique vocal abilities and able to contrast from a smooth and sexy lullaby to a passionate croon.
His love for melodic tension provides the inspiration to voice chords in such a dissonant but beautifying way that he in fact does hold the power to shake the spines of his listeners. Constantly living in desperation to prove, be heard and succeed; he will not fail.

Single

MUSICAL INFLUENCE(S):
Michael Brecker and Dexter Gordon

AMBITIONS:
To be an executive in a successful company

WORST HABIT:
Smoking

FAVOURITE QUOTE: “P.S. I am gay” - Homer Simpson

The navigator of musical logic throughout each individual song. Living a life in total seriousness and sexual frustration, alert he keeps as note by note he presents the melodic grounding preparing the rest of the ensemble. Following in the footsteps of local Jazz legends Grandfather Ron Harrison and Father Paul Harrison, he endeavours to make them proud.
Yet humble, simple and introverted, he will allow no exception to perfection and accuracy.

AGE: 19

MARITAL STATUS:
Divorced

MUSICAL INFLUENCE(S):
Art Blakey, Elvin Jones and Kurt Elling

AMBITIONS:
To have fun

WORST HABIT:
Drinking too much caffeine

FAVOURITE QUOTE: “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it” - Aristotle

Hardly a drummer but a genuine percussionist illustrating the true definition of "stylistic diversity" with the ability to create any beat from a hard swing to a seductive samba. Converting his day-to-day pains and energies in to the most exact of essential pulse-waves generating the ideal condition to traverse upon. Sustaining a sense of rhythmical togetherness and forever endeavors to maintain the "in the pocket" groove.
